McDonalds in Ryde is to close for a total of 6 weeks from 19th September to allow for major refurbishment works to take place.
Both the restaurant and drive-thru will be closed to the public from Monday 19th September until Tuesday 1st November whilst the decor is upgraded, new ordering systems are installed and even interactive tablets.
The drive-thru is expected to be altered to allow 2 cars to order food at the same time before moving around to the collection windows. It is hoped this will help ease traffic in the area, which often backs up onto Brading Road.
The nearest alternative McDonalds during the refurbishment is Newport, which does not operate a drive-thru.
