A male was freed from his vehicle by firefighters following a single-vehicle crash in Niton during the early hours of this morning (Monday).
The incident occurred on Newport Road – between Ford Farm Lane and Rectory Road – at just before 01:00.
Firefighters from Newport and Ventnor used hydraulic cutting equipment to safely extricated the casualty, who was then passed into the care of the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service and conveyed to St Mary’s Hospital.
Newport’s wholetime crew also attended a dangerous structure in Mill Street, Newport and another on the Camp Hill estate, as previously reported by Island Echo.
