UPDATED: 53-year-old Deborah Ann Napier from Basingstoke has been charged with murder following the death of 46-year-old Jolyon Wray at his flat in Ryde on Monday.
As previously reported by Island Echo, Police were called to Leavington House on East Hill Road at around 16:00 on Monday afternoon where the body of a man was discovered in a basement flat.
It has been confirmed that Mr Jolyon Barry Wray – known locally as Joe – was stabbed in the back with such force that the knife penetrated his chest cavity. He was found on the living room sofa.
Mrs Napier, from Amazon Close in Basingstoke, has been charged with murder and will appear before the Isle of Wight Magistrates Court this morning where she is expected to be remanded in custody.
UPDATE @ 10:45 – Deborah Ann Napier, a mother with connections to the Isle of Wight for at least 30 years, has been remanded in custody and will appear before Winchester Crown Court tomorrow (Friday).
No plea has been entered.
UPDATE FRIDAY: Deborah Ann Napier appeared before Judge J Miller at Winchester Crown Court this afternoon, where the case was adjourned until 14th November for the trial.
Napier has been remanded in custody and will appear back at Winchester Crown Court on 16th September, ahead of the trial.
