It was a busy start to the weekend for Cowes RNLI lifeboat as they launched to 2 separate yachts in trouble.
On Saturday the lifeboat and her volunteer crew went to the aid of a 26ft yacht with a rope caught around its propeller off Gurnard. The ‘Forfive’, with 4 people on board, was given an alongside tow to Shepards Wharf Marina. The lifeboat, which had launched at 17:55, returned to station 40 minutes later.
Just a day earlier, on Friday, another alongside tow to the same marina was provided in the afternoon to the 29ft ‘Isbym’. The boat, with 1 person on board, had reported an overheated engine while off Osborne Bay.
