Police have been busy working to disrupt the supply of Class A drugs across the Isle of Wight.
Enforcement work has been undertaken including the execution of a drugs warrant at an address in Shanklin on Tuesday. A 57-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of class A drugs.
Engagement with the community is also a vital part of the work the Police are undertaking. This week saw teams visiting local schools, as well as speaking with taxi firms, hotels and other businesses in the hospitality industry to educate them around spotting the signs of child exploitation.
Drug networks are responsible for high levels of violence in addition to the exploitation and abuse of vulnerable adults and children.
Neighbourhood officers were joined by the Dog Unit to carry out some work at the Royal Mail sorting offices too, as first reported by Island Echo. This was in part to target the supply of class A drugs coming to the Isle of Wight through the postal service, but also to enhance the training of the dogs.
Officers have also been engaging with the harbours at Yarmouth, Cowes, Newtown and Shalfleet to share information around possible drugs supply routes. Hampshire Constabulary continue to encourage harbour staff to remain vigilant and report and suspicious activity on the water.
In addition to all of this, officers have also worked with a local metal detectorist to conduct sweeps of areas where suspected drug dealing has taken place. A number of knives have been seized as a result.

Jail all for ten years minimum. Take all they own, sell it, and only then will drug dealing ease, it will never stop as people don’t expect to get caught, but the risk to punishment makes ever more deal now.
Catching such low life, is only a small part, as it is up to courts to give huge sentences but they can’t as jails full of the imported worlds finest now.
So address that, and then perhaps we can jail our own low life as we used to do.
It’s their right to deal drugs. Apparently
I don’t condone the use of illegal drugs but prohibition doesn’t work it creates gangsters and the more you try and suppress and punish these dealers the meaner and nastier they will become .
All who take drugs should realise that by doing so they are participating, as the end of a supply chain, in the exploitation of vulnerable people, some of whom are minors. They also are supporting the violent criminal gangs which exploit others through fear and violence.

You can put a stop to all this..
Throwing it out there for pub/restaurant owners… Spray all flat surfaces with WD40, leave for 15 minutes and then wipe the excess off with blue roll it creates a layers that will turn any powders into a paste, and they won’t want to put it on their tongues as it tastes like earwax! Had a few people get the royal hump with me for losing their precious powder
Doing that is illegal and you could be prosecuted for assault because it can cause serious medical issues
In Malaysia, the death penalty is mandatory for drug dealing. 7oz of cannabis, apparently, is considered sufficient to be classed as “dealing”. Maybe Heathrow could offer special rates to Malaysia Airlines on condition they take some of our rubbish away.
Anyone convicted of drug crime or gang membership should be permanently electronically tagged…..only to be removed if they can prove they have rehabilitated.
Horrible scum
