The King’s Awards for Enterprise were previously known as The Queen’s Awards for Enterprise and were renamed 2 years ago to reflect His Majesty The King’s desire to continue the legacy of HM Queen Elizabeth II by recognising outstanding UK businesses.
The Award programme, now in its 59th year, has awarded over 8,000 companies since its inception in 1965.
This year, 197 businesses representing a diverse range of sectors have been recognised by His Majesty The King as among the best in the country, highlighting the ambition, ingenuity, and success of our diverse business community.
Here on the Isle of Wight, Datum Electronics, HTP Apprenticeship College, PC Consultants and The Garlic Farm have all been recognised.
HTP have received their award in the category of Promoting Opportunity for creating a unique pathway for young people aged 16-18 to commence a career in the NHS.
For PC Consultants, it is their offering of opportunities in IT for individuals – irrespective of personal circumstances and academic achievement – that has secured their award, also in the Promoting Opportunity category.
The Garlic Farm has been recognised for Sustainable Development for creating net positive outcomes for people and the planet through garlic farming and garlicky products.

“I wish the winners every success as they continue to grow, innovate and prosper, and commend the invaluable contributions they have already made to communities at home in the South East and abroad, helping to boost the UK economy.”
Lord Lieutenant for the Isle of Wight, Susie Sheldon, will present the awards to the 4 local businesses at a later date.
A representative from each winning business will also be invited to a special Royal reception event.
