Isle of Wight athletes have celebrated a host of podium places after competing at the Special Olympics GB Summer Games in Plymouth and Birmingham.
Island competitors enjoyed success across football, athletics and swimming, picking up gold, silver and bronze medals.
On the football pitch, Archie, Bastie, Sophia, Sam, Ruth, Fenner, Thomas, Edward and Lewis all secured silver medals, with the 9-strong team finishing as runners-up.
There was further success in track and field, where Amelia collected 3 medals. She won silver in the shot put and 100m relay, as well as bronze in the 100m sprint.
Fleur also claimed 2 silver medals, competing in the shot put and 100m relay, while Summer took bronze in the shot put.

Brooke and Lulu were both members of the silver medal-winning 100m relay team.
In the pool, Sarah completed an impressive set of all 3 medal colours, taking gold in the 25m freestyle, silver in the 25m butterfly and bronze in the 25m backstroke.

The results capped a successful Special Olympics GB Summer Games for the Island contingent, with podium places secured across all 3 sports.
