Chaos after the cowboys turned up!
Come on Phil before someone beats you to it
Too many people in dark clothes crossing roads these early dark evenings. Wear or carry something reflective. It’s not always the car’s fault.
Actually I believe the problem lies with the LED street lights. It’s almost impossible to see pedestrians in the patchy, poor light that they produce. The old orange sodium ones gave ten times more light and visibility. Ok, we’re all trying to cut down on power consumption but how can you put a price on public safety?
I’ve been saying those lights are shite since they began changing them…had 2 falls myself coz the pavements poorly lit.
What a horrid and naive comment, as a driver, pedestrian and cyclist in London and on the Island; you must be a really sour individual.
Why are they a sour individual, simply by stating the bleeding obvious that these LED lights are dimmer than the old sodium ones,or pedestrians should wear light or reflective clothing?
All you had to say was the word cyclist and I just know what sort of person you are.
It doesn’t help the street lights are as dim and a torch running low on batteries, I am sure the lights used to be brighter when they first installed L.E.D ones?
Thoughts with the injured man and also to his family. Anytime is tragic to have an accident but around Christmas stands out a lot more. As for the car driver I sincerely hope that you recover also from the harrowing ordeal. No one should assume any fault until all the facts are known and quite simply this could be a simply “accident”. Lastly those who make any pathetic comments , before you type and submit , imagine if this was one of your loved ones involved.
As a driver the one that scares me the most is the pedestrian crossing on Lake Hill at the junction with the Fairway.
It’s just uphill from the bus stop where the pavement is very poorly lit.
Driving down from the heights in the dark it is very difficult to see if there is anyone there.
