Hovertravel service has been suspended for the 2nd time today (Saturday) due to adverse weather conditions.
As previously reported by Island Echo the cross-Solent service encountered major disruption this morning and this afternoon before service was resumed at 15:00.
However now, just over 2 hours later heavy winds on the Solent have caused the temporary cancellation of crossings on the Ryde – Southsea route.
Purchased tickets are being accepted on Wightlink’s Fast Cat.
An update from Hovertravel is due at 18:45 as to whether service will resume this evening.

The island is so lucky to have reliable Wightlink, who needs anything else !!
Visit the IOW 1950’s transport link’s in 2023.
Come on, you know you cannot critiicise the transport system to the island, from monoplies to maintenence issues,to lack of staff, to the damn awkward weather we have, all things that preclude having a transport system that can be relied upon.
It’s less bover on da hover. Unless it’s windy.
