Seeing her handmade girls dresses for sale on the High Street in Cowes has an extra meaning for Jo Jenkins, owner of Hampshire-based Roundabout Childrenswear.
The dresses are now being stocked in Pocket Full of Pebbles in Cowes.
Jo, who launched her own range of dresses in 2014, explains:
“Our family has a long history on the Isle of Wight. My grandmother was from Elmfield and watched the Titanic sail out in 1912. We have traced our family, the Searles, on the island back as far as the early 1600s”.
Jo’s great, great uncle, Charles Searle, was one of the first Coxswains of the Bembridge Lifeboat in the late 1800s her Great Grandfather was a tailor in Ryde. She is definitely from good old Isle of Wight stock!
Daniel Line, owner of Pocket Full of Pebbles, is very keen to support local, independent brands. His aim is to find good quality products that are a bit different.
Daniel says:
“I love curating the clothes, toys and lifestyle products I have in the shop and sometimes the best things are found by chance like when Jo, from Roundabout, was visiting Cowes and popped into the shop. I’m very pleased to add Jo’s gorgeous dresses to the range of local brands I have on offer.”
