Strong winds on the Solent have forced the cancellation of 6 Red Jet crossings this afternoon (Tuesday).
The 15:35, 16:45 and 17:55 from Southampton and the 16:10, 17:20 and 18:30 from Cowes have been cancelled due to strong winds in conjunction with Red Jet 6 operating restrictions.
Red Jet apologises for any inconvenience caused.

Regardless of your personal opinions, bridges and tunnels, do not have wind, weather or striking or other staffing issues or ongoing maintenence problems, the dartford crossing can be used in a force 8 although they do ban HGV’s when the wid gets that stroong , the sooner a bridge or a tunnel happens the better..
This Island deserves a lot better, however this is a weather related story and we live on an island. A decent reliable Ferry service at a reasonable cost and reliability is the answer not a fixed link. This really should not be too much to expect!
You really do know how to contradict yourself don’t you, muppet.
So how doesn’t a bridge have wind lol.
The island doesn’t need a bridge or a tunnel, if you don’t like it then move.
A bridge that doesn’t need maintenance, next thing you will tell us that the Dartford bridge never closes no matter what, what are you on.
