Residents, relatives and staff at Orchard House Care Home in Newport marked Father’s Day with a special afternoon of music, laughter and family time.
Families were invited to the home for a Father’s Day lunch last Sunday, allowing residents to spend quality time with their loved ones in a relaxed setting.
Guests shared stories, reminisced and created new memories during the celebration.
Entertainment was provided by Tony from Independent Arts, who performed a selection of classic songs for residents and visitors. The performance encouraged plenty of singing along and brought back happy memories for many.
Residents also received Father’s Day cards featuring popular dad jokes, prompting laughter throughout the home.
A spokesperson for Orchard House Care Home has said:
“Father’s Day is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the important father figures in our residents’ lives and create meaningful moments with family and friends.
“Seeing everyone singing together, sharing stories and enjoying each other’s company made for a truly special day.”
The care home has thanked all of the families who attended and helped make the occasion memorable.
Orchard House Care Home says it remains committed to providing engaging activities and meaningful experiences that help residents maintain strong links with their families and the wider community.

What would be nice to read is: “Orchard House remains committed” ….. to drag the home out of the “inadequate” CGC rating it received recently.
