A stunning collection of birds of prey will be taking flight once again at Robin Hill as the park’s new owners have come to the rescue of The Falconry Experience, who were facing an uncertain fate.
As previously reported by Island Echo, The Falconry Experience was due to relocate from the Isle of Wight Steam Railway at Havenstreet to Butterfly World, Wootton following the expiration of their lease. But just a few weeks ago it was revealed that those plans had fallen through.
Sam White, director of the Falconry Experience, explains:
“Lee [Priddle] was following us on social media and saw that we were struggling to relocate to a suitable new location at the end of a long lease. We were over the moon when he offered us a home at Robin Hill, we thought there wasn’t going to be a viable way forward for us as a company.”
The Falconry Experience and its 37 birds are now happily homed in the existing falconry centre at Robin Hill.
Lee Priddles, CEO of Robin Hill, says:
“We were so pleased to be able to step in and help. These guys can now continue to do their great work with these amazing birds, not only providing free daily flying displays for our visitors, but also offering education and promoting conservation throughout the park.”
Charlotte Bell, co-director of the Falconry Experience, adds:
“Robin Hill is the most perfect location for our birds, this has been the light at the end of the tunnel after many challenges over the years. We cannot wait for the season to start and have big plans for three new exciting shows next year – so look out for further announcements!”
If you can’t wait to see these magnificent birds until the park opens in April 2025, the Falconry Experience are now providing private hands on sessions at Robin Hill which can be booked through their website.
