The vast range of NHS careers available right on the doorstep is being highlighted to secondary school-aged students next month (Saturday 16th April).
The Isle of Wight NHS Trust Careers Fair is aimed at students in Years 7 to 11, with the hope of engaging them as early as possible in their school life and influencing their choice of educational options.

Nursing * resuscitation team * school nursing team * occupational therapy * paramedics * memory service * midwifery * Hospital Sterilisation and Disinfection Unit (HSDU) * pharmacy * mental health * diagnostic imaging (X-ray /MRI scans) * blood services * estate management * finance * apprenticeships * HR and volunteering * administration * Clinical Research * Cardiac Physiology * My Life a Full Life – Age UK IW, Volunteer Centre, Scio Healthcare, Youth Trust and the Red Cross * Isle of Wight College
Over 300 people attended last year’s careers event, after which a great deal of positive feedback was received.
Chris Palmer, Executive Director of Financial and Human Resources, said:
“This event is part of our organisation-wide commitment to bring more young people into our workforce. Not only can young people bring new skills and ideas, but they can help us to maintain a talented, well-equipped future workforce that represents our local community.”
The free event is being held between 10:00 – 15:00, Saturday 16th April, at the Education Centre at St Mary’s Hospital. There is no need to book in advance and parking is free, although a temporary parking permit must be obtained from the Education Centre. For more information about the event, email [email protected].
