A dolphin has washed up on a popular East Wight beach on the Isle of Wight this morning (Monday).
The deceased animal has been discovered by a dog walker at Sandown, close to the Driftwood Beach Bar.
Islanders are being reminded to report such finds to the Coastguard. This is the same in the case of those mammals not deceased as HM Coastguard can coordinate an appropriate response.
UPDATE @ 14:00 – Ventnor Coastguard Rescue Team are now on scene to document the find.

Dolphins Lives Matter.
The Dolphin is such a wonderful marine species and we all glee when we see them in their natural environment and to find one washed up is such a shame and to be honest it needs to be investigated. There could be various reasons this poor animal died from illegal fishing nets along with stress as a result of power boats and jet skis harassing them so any found washed up should be investigated so please you are surrounded by water embrace it with its abundance of wildlife and show a bit of respect to a wonderful species!
I am sure glee is not a verb in the sense you have used it. I hope this animal was sent to The Queen as it his Her Majesty’s property.
