A road traffic collision on Carpenters Road in Brading is causing traffic delays this afternoon (Friday).
The incident happened at around 15:15 and has seen a vehicle – a silver Toyota- heading towards Oasis lose control and mount the grass verge by the side of the road.
Traffic is building in the area with vehicles having to turn around.
Emergency services aren’t yet at the scene.
Motorists are advised to avoid the area.
UPDATE @ 16:05 – Police have arrived on the scene and the vehicle is no longer in the road and is instead off the carriageway thanks to the efforts of a local farmer.
Bartletts have arrived to recover the car.

Hooray! Well done Tom, at last someone with some common sense. It’s high time drivers realized just because the limit signs say 50, it doesn’t mean you can travel that fast and still keep on the road!
One day soon there will be NO accidents… due to all these bad drivers crashing their cars and hopefully getting banned from driving for awhile…

Well done to the Farmer who had the sense to get the car off the road. Probably driving a little too fast for the road conditions and, hit a bit of the slippery stuff and hey, the car then got up close and personal with the grass bank!
When will people learn to slow down.
You do not have to be going fast in these conditions to crash, unfortunately it is just one of those things.
