A beautiful grey tabby cat that was found wandering around the corridors of a school in Godalming in Surrey is being reunited with its owner on the Isle of Wight after being missing for 7 weeks.
It was on Monday that the adventurous pet was spotted at Broadwater School, attracting the attention of pupils, parents and teachers.
The cat was taken to Farncombe Veterinary Practice where he was scanned for a microchip. To the vets’ surprise, the chip came back to an address here on the Island – some 60 miles and a boat journey away.
It has been revealed that the cat had been missing for the past 7 weeks, but is now being reunited with its relieved owner – Chloe Duckworth from Nettlestone.
Commenters have been trying to figure out how the animal made it from the Isle of Wight to Surrey, with some surmising that perhaps it snuck on Summer holiday.

Beautiful cat and so pleased she is found safe and well and reunited with her owner.
He.
As someone involved in cat rescue I can say this lovely cat has had several adventures in the past. His last siting was on Nodes Point holiday camp after which he disappeared, only to reappear on the mainland as I predicted. You can draw you own conclusions as to what happened.
So pleased puss is back home! Thankfully a happy ending, only he/ she knows the truth about that little excursion. Time to be a house cat?
Knew chips were good for us despite what the experts say
She was in our house the other day, we left the back door open and she wondered in, such a lovely cat
So I live in Clatterford rd in Carisbrooke and drive to Farncombe to head office every other week. Broadwater, where the cat was found is 250m from the office!
Does the cat roam in Carisbrooke? Occasionally I leave my van door window or sliding door open while I load bits.
I hope the cat is OK.
