Islander Jamie Hindson is continuing his monthly donation to local good causes, handing over a cheque for £100 to Better Days Café in Ventnor.
Throughout 2025, the 34-year-old is making donations to a number of different charities and organisations across the Isle of Wight.
This month, Jamie took a visit to the Better Days Café and met owner Kirsty Boylan, as well as some of her volunteers.
Of his visit, Jamie said:
“What an amazing community cafe we have in Ventnor, it has such a great social vibe to it and it’s all very welcoming to all. It’s really nice to see they are catering and adapting to those that need extra support.
“Kirsty has done an amazing job and I can’t wait to see other projects in the pipeline come forward into plan”.
In January, Jamie made a donation to Mountbatten Hospice in Ventnor and at Christmas handed over £120 to the Children’s Ward at St Mary’s Hospital.
In recent years Jamie has complete a half marathon run, an abseil down the Spinnaker Tower and a rough sleeping challenge.
Well done Jamie. What a lovely man.
Well done to Jamie, Ventnor is a thriving place.
Can someone please enlighten me on what an
Islander is?
I have lived on the island 48 years, now retired.
Am I an islander?.
I have many friends of moved to the island when they
were very young and had their schooling on the island,
thankfully I was educated on the mainland.
To me we are all the same, British.
