There
s not a lot you can say that hasnt already been said on this subject except,I suppose, “roll on the fixed link”.Just having a rail link (passenger only) that was fixed would make a big difference. Channel tunnel, a fixed rail link, has not been closed because of these storms. Would still leave room for the car ferries.
It’s never going to happen. So wake up take a reality check and put that 130k to some good use on the island. Help for the homeless, activities for kids and counselling for all the overners coming here thinking they can change our island.
Wake up and take a reality check it’s never going to hapoen, put that 130k to some good use on the island. Help for the homeless people, activities for kids and counselling for the overners coming here thinking they can change our island.
I use to live on mainland you really DONT WANT FIX LINK if it does ever happen crime rate and all sorts will go up trust me yes boats supply shocking service but fix link is not the answer
If you want to live on the Island this is an inevitability, this is a natural set of events until technology becomes good enough to alleviate such problems.
Staff shortages, breakdowns, poor management add to the problem, people pay a lot of money to travel and this is not acceptable and needs addressing now.
A fixed link would largely remove weather related problems and in the process destroy the Island as we know it.
There will never be a majority in favour of a fixed link, get over the idea of one and move on to addressing the issue of poor service due to non weather related problems, these are issues that something can be done about.
No Fixed Link, Yes to a vast improvement to non weather related issues! To the benefit of all and that includes people and business alike.
Future will be driverless ferries, so all these ‘sick’ will be up Mount Street signing on.
China built a 1000 bed hospital in 10 days and we can’t even run proper ferry service !!!!!
that hospital isn’t dependent on the weather to operate and they also have more people available for construction work, than we have as a population – worth remembering the scale you can achieve with a population of 1.6 billion.
