A woman whose life was saved by Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance is organising a special fundraising event in Ryde to give back to the charity that came to her aid.
Air Ambulance Heroes will take place at Network Ryde, St Thomas’s Church on St Thomas’s Street, on Saturday (12th September) between 12:00-17:00.
The free event will feature dance and music alongside raffles and other fundraising activities, with no booking required.
It has been organised by Behroze Gandhy, who was airlifted from Ryde to Southampton General following a medical emergency on Easter Sunday earlier this year.
Behroze has said:
“I am beyond grateful to the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance team and the Paramedics.
“Their care, expertise and rapid response played a crucial role in saving my life. Air Ambulance Heroes is my way of saying thank you and giving something back to help ensure this incredible service can continue saving lives across our communities.”
Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance delivers advanced pre-hospital emergency care to people facing life-threatening situations across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight, with the charity relying heavily on public donations.
Organisers hope the September fundraiser will raise valuable funds for the service while increasing awareness of the role its crews play in responding to emergencies.
Admission to Air Ambulance Heroes is free and everyone is welcome to attend.
