The total number of COVID-19 deaths at St Mary’s Hospital on the Isle of Wight has increased to 30 people, it has been announced.
According to NHS England, the latest victim of the deadly virus passed away at the hospital on Thursday. The death toll previously stood at 29 as of last Tuesday.
25 people have now recovered from coronavirus according to the Isle of Wight NHS Trust – but this number has hardly moved in the past 2 weeks.
In addition to the 30 deaths in hospital, a further 6 people have died in the community as of 24th April. This brings the Island’s total death toll to 36.
As of 10th May, 155 confirmed cases of COVID-19 have been recorded on the Isle of Wight. This number remains fairly low in comparison to other areas, even after the launch of a testing facility at Medina Leisure Centre car park.

Why not be unique by supplying the figures of those that have recovered and been released, as well as showing the amount who have tested positive and those that have sadly passed away
I want to know how many ‘recovered’ REALLY are fully recovered.
Much is being kept from us I fear.
But one can read betwixt the lines knowing that this is dire when more die than come out of hospital and now, they no longer add the blurb, ‘but they had underlying health conditions’
Island Echo usually does all three figures, infected, recovered, and deaths. CPs the worst for lots of words but no actual information. Think OTW are like IE as well.
How many islanders are there unconfirmed because they were told to isolate
how many unconfirmed these numbers have to drop also before end of lockdown can happen surely it’s part of dropping the R number and no one has the answer to that part of the equation so how is sage getting the numbers they are coming up with
