A crash involving 2 vehicles is causing traffic delays on the main road from Newport to Ryde this evening (Tuesday).
The incident occurred at around 16:50 at Binfield on Fairlee Road and has seen 2 vehicles collide with one another. A street light has also been hit.
Paramedics from the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service are at the scene, alongside police units from Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary.
The road isn’t closed but traffic is being turned around so that paramedics can tend to those involved.
Southern Vectis Route 5 and 9 buses are currently diverting via Staplers.
Motorists are advised to avoid the area.
UPDATE @ 17:50 – 2 casualties have been taken to St Mary’s Hospital.
The road is now open once again and the vehicles are being recovered.
