A plethora of Land Rovers will descend on the Isle of Wight next weekend for the annual Kent to IOW Charity Land Rover Run, with this year’s event supporting local children’s charity Daisy Chains.
The fundraising event, now in its 15th year, will see all participating teams based in Shanklin. Since its inception, the run has raised over £86,200 for good causes, with organisers hoping to exceed £5,000 for Daisychain in 2025.
Saturday 14th June will feature a Treasure Hunt challenge as the Land Rovers make their way around the Isle of Wight. Planned stops include Ventnor, the Military Road to Freshwater, Totland, Shorwell, Chaille Green and Ryde, offering plenty of opportunities for the public to spot the convoy in action.
The following day, Sunday 15th June, the classic Land Rovers will be on display at the Isle of Wight Steam Railway in Havenstreet from 10:30 until early afternoon. The showcase will include a rare treat for enthusiasts – a pair of 1948 pre-production models. Entry is free and everyone is welcome.
Adding to the day’s attractions, an automobilia auction will take place at 11:00 to further boost funds for Daisy Chain.
So far this year, the event has already raised £1,250 through entry fees alone, with more fundraising planned throughout June.
Organisers are encouraging local classic car owners and Land Rover fans to mark the date in their diaries and get involved. For more information or to discuss participation, organisers can be contacted directly.
A great charity event, looking forward to
seeing it.
