Yarmouth has been named as the 19th most expensive seaside towns to move to, according to a new study. To unearth where in the UK people might want to start looking for a home by the coast, property experts at GetAgent delved into the data from their annual Sellers Report to reveal that the average property price in Yarmouth is £595,107. Top of the list is Sandbanks in Dorset with the average price of a house in the area a ‘measly’ £1,487,478 – almost 3x that of Yarmouth. A total of 9 of the top 20 locations are located in Cornwall. Colby Short, CEO and co-founder of GetAgent comments:
“Many of us dream about living a quiet life by the sea, enjoying beach walks before work and summery evening swims. The UK has so many wonderful coastal towns and villages, so whether you want to live in the south, north, east or west, there’s a seaside town for everyone to enjoy. “So whether you want to relocate to the seaside, or invest in a home by the sea that you can use with your family or rent out to holidaymakers when you’re not using it, there are countless towns to choose from.”

What! Higher than Sandown?
Why .. it has bugger all to offer ? Wightlink and couple of Red Trouser Brigade pubs, rip off parking fees everywhere .. even the Gaffers events gave up !! Even the School was closed for money .. and what for .. more 2nd homes .. Yarmouth is has had the blood drained out of it .. forget the BS that YTC spew out about it ..
Shouldn’t be a problem paying Double Council tax then.
Careful what you wish for. Better by far to have miserable wealthy people, here for two weeks a year, than more social housing, filled with anti social people with their clones wrecking everything , and the parents paying in nothing but ‘claiming’ everything going
They’ll probably boost the housing (while reducing house prices) by building on the marsh land and then wonder why the houses get flooded.
I have only been their once as it had nothing to offer
Yarmouth isn’t cheap because they have a great marina, easy access to the mainland and get this Cowes, a modern fixed link swing bridge that works. Sandbanks is the no.1 expensive, but it also happens to be the location of the infamous naturist beach too. So what you save in clothing is presumably spent on a more luxurious home. Sandbanks also has a chain ferry and it rattles a long happily every day without breakdowns.
