Cross-Solent travel operator Wightlink has warned of possible disruption to its services this weekend as Storm Darragh prepares to batter the Island.
Darragh – named by the Met Office – is set to bring with him strong winds and heavy winds this weekend which is expected to cause cross-Solent disruption from this evening (Friday) all the way until Sunday.
Local weather forecaster IW Met Service currently has 2 weather warnings in place, one for heavy rain and one for strong winds.
Sara Howden, Wightlink Head of Customer Experience, has said:
“Storm Darragh is forecast to bring high winds to the Solent this weekend.
“We intend to operate a normal timetable but advise customers that there is a possibility of disruption over the weekend because of the storm.
“If Wightlink ferry services are affected, our teams will contact customers with bookings to let them know what is happening.
“There will be up-to-date information on the Wightlink website and app including real-time service updates.”
Time for a Tunnel, especially with all the
Wind we are experiencing.
