The Wight Warriors speedway team – the new name for speedway on the Isle of Wight – have announced that Angie Cooper will be joining the club as Sponsor and Hospitality Manager and will be part of the commercial team.
Commercial Director Barry Bishop said:
“It really pleases us to publicly announce Angie’s arrival as part of our team. As a club we have already seen great commercial support locally, nationally and internationally for the Warriors and Angie will take on one of the most important roles here supporting our sponsors, working with them and ensuring that they receive the best commercial relationship possible. In addition to this Angie will also manage sponsor hospitality from arrival at the track to rider of the night.
“We believe she will be a fantastic addition to the team and hope all Warrior fans will join us and welcome her to the club.”
“I was introduced to speedway by my husband Ryan, even though I’ve lived here forever, and I was totally blown away!
“We went to my first GP in 2012 and I fell in love with speedway even more – I love the fact that it is so fast and every heat is different and I think what hooked me even more is the dedication from the riders.
“I was absolutely gutted when the club had to fold, not just because I was loosing a sport I enjoyed watching but also because I knew how much it meant to Ryan, as he’s been a part of it for so long and watching on TV just isn’t the same. I know I am relatively new to this and still learning but I am willing to learn more and support wherever I can to get the Warriors back where they belong”.
You will be able to meet Angie at the next fans forum on 10th September at Smallbrook Stadium – more details on this to follow.
