A man from London, wanted in connection with an incident that took place in Newport earlier this week, was arrested last night (Friday) before he boarded the Wightlink ferry back home.
At around 21:00, officers stopped a black Ford Focus at the Wightlink Ferry Terminal on Fishbourne Lane, near Wootton, with officers at the scene conducting a thorough search of the vehicle.
A 22-year-old from London was arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon in a public place.
The arrest relates to an incident that occurred in Newport on Wednesday (10th August) where a man was threatened at an address in the town.
Police have confirmed that the 22-year-old remains in custody at this time.

No need for courts to deal with my fiancé as it’s a false allegation of anything the guy who reported it shouldn’t get away with making a false allegation to police as well as wasting police time and resources! Which are all intact crimes themselves
