A ‘high-quality’ 4-bedroom house could be built on ‘undeveloped land’ off a main thoroughfare in Northwood.
Jennifer Porter and Gerry Shaw applied to County Hall to build a self-build chalet bungalow with a new vehicle access in a former garden off Northwood’s Pallance Road.
The proposal comes after separate plans for a major housing development immediately to the southwest of the application site were rejected by council planners as ‘visually intrusive’ in February.
A Planning, Design and Access Statement written by Paul Stack Planning said:
“This submission involves an outline application with access and scale to be considered at this stage in respect of the construction of a chalet bungalow on undeveloped land at 90 Pallance Road.
“The property would comprise a kitchen, living and dining room, utility room, study and bedroom at ground floor level with three further bedrooms, en-suite and bathroom facilities above.
“The proposal provides an opportunity to introduce a high-quality modern dwelling.”
County Hall’s public consultation on the application ends on 29th April and a decision is expected on 15th May.
Will land ever be used for affordable housing!!,
or will it always be expensive homes being built.
