A pair of instructors from Top Targets Shooting Ground at Tapnell Farm on the Isle of Wight have qualified for the 2026 England Shotgun Shooting Team.
Dan Bishop, owner of Top Targets, will represent England at the Home Internationals in Northern Ireland in September. The annual competition sees England compete against Scotland, Wales, Ireland and Jersey, with honours traditionally fiercely contested between the Home Nations.
Jennie Cartwright, who manages bookings at the ground and also works as an instructor, has been selected to represent England at the World Sporting Championships in Texas, USA in April.
The event attracts teams from across the globe, giving it a strong international line-up.
It will mark a second England cap for both Dan and Jennie. To qualify for selection, competitors must travel to shoots around the country and submit their best scores for consideration.
Both have also enjoyed significant success at the Island Games. At the 2023 Games in Guernsey, Dan and Jennie each secured 4 gold medals, winning every event they entered.
Their performances contributed to the shooting team achieving its best result to date and helped the Isle of Wight to a strong overall showing.

Jennie Cartwright has said:
“I’m really pleased to get this second chance to represent my county. Training is going well, could do with a bit less rain to get out more, but it’s great to have such a good facility at Top Targets to practice at.”
Top Targets offers both shotgun and air rifle shooting packages, with instructors including Dan, Jennie and Jim providing tuition for beginners and experienced shooters alike.
