Newport was transformed by a colourful display of lights, costumes and performers last night (Thursday) as the town’s Illuminated Carnival took to the streets.
The procession moved off from Church Litten at 21:00, with illuminated floats, walking entries, vehicles and performers making their way through the county town.
Among the highlights was the return of Isle of Wight-based Shademakers UK, who debuted ‘Danse Macabre – The Fool’ – the first chapter of their brand-new carnival production.
