Isle of Wight-based tech company ICRTouch has pledged continued support to Sophie’s Legacy by funding monthly pizza deliveries to families staying at St Mary’s Hospital.
ICRTouch has announced it will support Isle of Wight charity Sophie’s Legacy for a second consecutive year as part of its ongoing commitment to local community initiatives.
Sophie’s Legacy is dedicated to improving conditions for children and their families during hospital stays. The charity was founded in memory of Sophie Fairfall, a young Island girl who sadly lost her battle with cancer in 2021.
The charity works across hospitals on the south coast, providing food, snacks and essential items for families who may be staying for extended periods. Their initiatives include Saturday Suppers, play equipment and, where possible, specialist play support for children receiving treatment.
ICRTouch has donated £1,440 to fund the charity’s Saturday Night Suppers at St Mary’s Hospital in Newport. The funding will provide pizzas from local restaurants once a month throughout 2026 for families staying on the Special Care Baby Unit and the Children’s Ward.
Colin Ringer, CEO of ICRTouch, has said:
“We’re incredibly proud to be able to continue our support of the amazing work that the Sophie’s Legacy team carry out. Their efforts make such a difference and we’re delighted to be a part of hopefully bringing a smile to families’ faces as they face difficult times.”
Members of the ICRTouch team visited St Mary’s Hospital on 7th February and 7th March to see the charity’s work first-hand. During the visits, the team helped distribute pizzas during the Saturday Suppers and also brought along Cadbury’s Easter eggs to share with families on the ward.
Charlotte Fairfall, founder of Sophie’s Legacy, said:
“We are incredibly grateful to ICRTouch for sponsoring and delivering pizzas every month for the next year to the children’s wards at the Isle of Wight Hospital. Their ongoing support has and will bring smiles, comfort, and a sense of normality to families during some of their toughest moments. Acts of kindness like this make a genuine difference, and we’re so thankful to have ICRTouch as part of the Sophie’s Legacy community.”
