Godshill Model Village owner, Stuart Dyer has received the Isle of Wight Masters Swim Club’s most improved swimmer of 2015 trophy from the Club’s chairman Bob Cooper.
This was at the early morning session at The Heights, Sandown. The Club swim everyTuesday and Thursday mornings between 7.30 and 8.30 am.
Stuart said:
“I really enjoy coming to these early sessions as it freshens you up for the day ahead as well as helps to keep you fit, and it is good to be with like minded friends in the pool. Being a member of the Wight Triathlon as well, gives the swimming more relevance.”
Bob Cooper said:
“You do not have to be involved with competitive swimming to be a member of The Marlins. Although we are proud of the efforts of a most competitive swimmers, including Jenny Ball and Lyndsey Shenton, the Club is there for anyone who wants to use swimming to assist in keeping fit and to start the day with a swim.
“Our President 88-year-old Joan Kidd, who swims twice a week, is a prime example of the benefits of swimming. Should anyone be encouraged by this award they can go to our website, https://iowmarlinsswimclub.co.uk“.
The Club is holding their Annual Open Swim Meet at Medina Leisure Centre on Saturday 30th January 2016, where a large number of Masters swimmers will be travelling to the Island to take part.
