Storm Ciaran has hit the Isle of Wight bringing severe gale-force winds and torrential rain to our shores, leading to yet more destruction across the Island. Trees have already been brought down, communities have lost power and coastal locations have flooded, but stronger winds are still to come as day breaks. Thankfully, severe property flooding has not been reported locally alleviating fears of a repeat of last Wednesday. The risk now is from incredibly strong winds that could lead to property damage, fallen trees and downed power cables, increasing the risk to life.
