Island Line trains are operating to a reduced service today (Sunday) due to staff shortages.
Trains between Ryde Pier Head and Shanklin are running hourly.
A staff member being ‘unavailable’ has been blamed for the timetable change.
Trains are currently departing Shanklin at XX:18 past the hour and Ryde Pier Head at XX:49 past the hour.
Tarmac the lot over and run shuttle buses, which could go into the town to collect customers before speeding them on the then private road to their destinations.
Competition would be good for us, as SV can charge what they wish now.
Still better than no trains running I suppose

Well if its not a shortage of trains, now it’s staff, Don’t they have any spare, they seem to have loads of staff around?
Public transport on the Island is becoming a joke. Can’t operate because one person is missing. What about back-up staff member then?
Well if it’s not enough trains,now not enough staff,there seems to be loads hanging around in ryde.
Once again Island Residents are suffering appalling service, What ever the reason it be Ferry/hover or now again trains, Islanders are being held to ransom.
I will once again say a concerted effort and communal response is required, individual reaction and comments passed on Island echo are going to achieve nothing, unless there is a substantial effort in the way of a huge signed letter to The island MP to demand something is done there will be no change to the relentless disrespect to the public.
I feel sure this is within the capability of the public and business on the Island to get a change to this awful state of affairs.
A prominent figure or business needs to stand up and get something moving for it is ALL who are suffering, and there is no sign of a change anytime soon.
Things will only change when enough stand to say enough is enough as one.
Does anybody work on this Island we have trains with no staff, we have Ferries with no staff and we have NHS with no staff.
Stop all unemployment benefits and get the Island working!!
Think this is fake news, both trains were running fine when I caught them.
