Staddlestones in Ryde is looking to take on the aftersales contracts for the Vauxhall and Fiat marques following the closure of Snows Isle of Wight.
Earlier this week Island Echo revealed that Snows is to close its Forest Road motor park next month. It’s said that the ongoing market volatility and unforeseen economic circumstances have forced the decision, despite best efforts to sustain the business.
It was in November 2023 that Island Echo revealed that brand new BMWs, Minis, Fiats and Abarth vehicles were no longer being sold at Forest Road with the local Snows site becoming an approved repairer and a satellite of Portsmouth only. The Seat/Cupra marque was also relinquished and replaced by Vauxhall.
Now, 15 months later, it has been confirmed Snows will close for good on 5th February.
Staddlestones say that although nothing is set in stone just yet, it has full intention to look after both Vauxhall and Fiat owners on the Island moving forward.
Existing Vauxhall customers have been advised that from 6th February the Brading Road garage will be the place to go for servicing, repairs and maintenance.
However, Islanders will still not be able to purchase new Vauxhalls – or BMWs, Minis or Fiats – on the Isle of Wight as Staddlestones is not looking to become a full-blown dealership. It is currently the Island’s dealer for Peugeot.
Are people actually buying new vehicles thesedays,
hardly see a 74 plate
(Majority of people I know are sticking to what they
have)
How long before Staddlestones close their doors!
