The sun is setting on an unforgettable Isle of Wight Festival and the final day of The Hard Rock Stage drew to a weekend-defining close. Over the past 3 days the stage, curated by Hard Rock Cafe and The Isle of Wight Festival delivered the hottest new music as the sun shone brightly.
Hosted by James Barr, from MTV News and Heat Radio, festivalgoers were treated to stunning acoustic sets and rockin’ performances at the legendary Seaclose Park.
Sunday saw a spectacular first set by ‘Save Soho’ campaigner Tim Arnold. Bringing with him friends from Amnesty International, Tim’s moving performance centered around LGBT rights around the world, as he sang new tracks with the help of a local Isle of Wight choir. Alex Francis was up next and he didn’t disappoint. He brought crowds to a standstill with his spellbinding vocals.
Starsailor frontman James Walsh drew festivalgoers in droves as he packed out the Hard Rock Stage with huge hits including ‘Four To The Floor’, new material and Stone Roses classic ‘Waterfall’ which he touchingly dedicated to Manchester. Blacklight Panda, Electric Pyramid and force to be reckoned with, Yorkshire’s Bang Bang Romeo followed, along with Manchester band The Tamalas, The RPMs and New Blood Winner, Penny Mob.
100 Fables, who were last year crowned European winners of Hard Rock Rising global battle of the bands competition, wowed with an electric performance. Last but by no means least, the Sex Pissed Dolls brought the Hard Rock Stage to a rip roaring close with a thrilling performance bursting with rock’n’roll energy.
