The Adelaide Resource Centre in Ryde has officially reopened following a significant refurbishment aimed at improving care and support services for residents across the Isle of Wight.
Guests were recently invited to look around the transformed building and see how the improvements will enhance the delivery of services provided at the long-standing care facility.
The refurbishment has introduced 22 modern bedrooms, alongside upgraded communal and dining areas designed to create a brighter and more welcoming environment. Improvements to the layout have also enabled a more seamless flow throughout the building, while new kitchen, bathroom and office facilities are expected to support a more efficient day-to-day operation for both residents and staff.
The Adelaide has served the Ryde community for nearly 40 years, offering a safe and supportive setting for individuals recovering from illness or injury. It also provides short-term stays and reablement support tailored to help people regain independence.
Kelly Grimes, Registered Manager for The Adelaide, has said:
“Every day we see the impact that person-centred care and support by our dedicated team makes to people’s lives.
“It will allow for us to ensure that The Adelaide will remain the perfect environment for helping those that stay with us to regain independence and achieve their goals, whatever they may be, for many years to come.”
The refurbishment has been met with positive feedback from those who attended the reopening, with many commenting on the noticeable improvement from the building’s previous condition.
One resident has said:
“I had visited someone I knew that was staying at The Adelaide a couple of years ago, and when I look around me now I can’t believe it is the same place!
“It has been a pleasure to be here, the staff have been kind, caring and could not do enough to make me feel comfortable.”
