The Needles Coastguard Rescue Team and Yarmouth RNLI Lifeboat were tasked to reports of a woman in the water at Colwell Bay this lunchtime (Wednesday).
Solent Coastguard requested the search and rescue resources to proceed to the West Wight beach at around 12:40 to assist colleagues from the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service.
Thankfully, the time Coastguard Rescue Officers arrived on scene the female casualty was safely in the care of paramedics.
Yarmouth’s All Weather Lifeboat was stood down.
If you or someone else is in difficulty on the coast or at sea, or if you spot what you think may be unexploded ordnance, then dial 999 and ask for the Coastguard. Further safety information can be found at https://coastguardsafety.campaign.gov.uk/.
