A former Conservative Party member has been appointed the temporary chair of the Isle of Wight branch of Reform UK to oversee the forthcoming local by-elections.
Caroline Gladwin, who lives on the Island and joined Reform after quitting the Conservatives in 2019, previously stood as a local and parliamentary candidate on the mainland. She also recently led a by-election team in Hamble and Netley, where Reform UK ran a positive and successful campaign from a standing start.
It is said the position is temporary until a new Interim Chair and other Interim Officers can be appointed. This follows the resignation of Sarah Morris and other branch officers earlier this month, as previously reported by Island Echo.
Reform UK says it has 10 Isle of Wight candidates vetted and approved to stand in local elections, with work now taking place to identify those to stand in May’s by-elections for the 3 wards of Central Rural, Freshwater South and Lake North.
Sarah Morris will stand as an Independent candidate in the forthcoming, as Reform UK says she failed her latest party vetting.
So it will be in Tory posing as a Reformer.
A crafty way for the Tories to take back power.
