A 27-year-old man found smoking suspected crack cocaine as Police entered a property in Cowes has admitted possessing cocaine and cannabis.
Makaide Shotton, 27, of Sun Hill in Cowes, admitted possession of cocaine and possession of cannabis when he appeared at the Isle of Wight Magistrates Court earlier this week (Tuesday).
Prosecutor Laura Lohk told the court that on the 21st March, Police entered a property in Cowes and found Shotton sat on the sofa, smoking what Police believed to be crack cocaine.
Shotton, a wanted man at the time, was handcuffed and searched with quantities of both cannabis and cocaine found in his pockets.
Defending his client, Jim Osborne told the court that at the time of the offence Shotton was addicted heavily to cocaine and heroin but that he has since gotten himself on the straight and narrow and is clean from substances.
Shotton, who is currently working with probation on a drug rehabilitation order, was fined £120 and ordered to pay £85 costs.
