Rag N Bone man joined Absolute Radio’s Pete Donaldson backstage at the Isle of Wight Festival just before hitting the main stage yesterday (Friday), where he spoke about politics and the Wightlink ferry.
Speaking about how he got to steer the ferry to the Island, Rag N Bone man said:
“They let me steer the ferry pretty much all the way here. You just hold this massive steering wheel and make sure you hold it steady and that’s pretty much it.”
Before giving his positive reaction to the general election after openly supporting Jeremy Corbyn’s Labour, Rag N Bone man said:
“I think you have to look at it as a victory because there are all these people that have never voted in their lives and there is a reason why nobody has voted before.
“We’ve all, including me, felt so disjointed from politics because we’ve seen these politicians spew off the same, kind of thing, and reading from a very tired script. Then you say ‘Well, I don’t want to vote for these people because they all seem the same’. But then this man [Jeremy Corbyn] has come along and people have felt like they’ve got something to vote for. So, the fact that he got such a small distance away I think is a victory in itself.”
