The Link Kiosk in Cowes is to re-open under new ownership at the start of November.
As previously reported by Island Echo, the commuter café, near the Cowes Floating Bridge Terminal, was put up for sale back in August when the then-owner had to give up her small premises as a result of ill health.
However, it has now been confirmed to Island Echo some months later, that the new era at the popular café will begin on 7th November.
The new owner, Lee Cheek, has said:
“I’m a Cowes boy, born and bred. Like most Islanders, the sea has always been a major part of my life. At the age of 16 I joined Merchant Navy and enjoyed 31 years at sea. That all changed in 2018 when I was given the opportunity to move into the hospitality industry and manage a local B&B in Cowes.”
“I will also be offering a bespoke, professional catering service for business lunches, weddings, funerals, social functions, and all types of parties. I can customise the type of food to suit any occasion and dietary requirements.”
Lee has also said he plans to follow on from the success of the predecessors Tracey & Martin before looking to increase the menu options available to customers at a later date.
To accommodate those on the early-morning commute to work the café will still open from 07:30 Monday – Saturday.

Commuter cafe sums it up. This small stretch of water is like an ocean for those that uses it regularly.
It will only survive if the prices are realistic. I wish them good luck in their venture.
