Getting more like the mainland daily. These people IF, and a BIG IF, are caught they should be jailed for twenty years attempted murder.

The Island is turning into a vile place now. Police unwilling to do anything about small crime, so as we see larger crime gets worse.

So much of this crime is drugs related, whether stealing to fund such habits, OR often because someone has had drugs off a dealer and then not paid up.

So those who think ‘smoking dope’ or worse still growing such is not a problem, it is, and when even a teacher is growing then clearly a huge social and moral issue for not only Ryde, but as we see everywhere on our once pleasant Island.

The police is being underfunded like most of our public services. You think you will get a better service by it being privatised think again. It is time for people to open their eyes. Most people will be clapping for the NHS this Thursday. The Nhs needs protecting after all this is over otherwise its another service gone.

Underfunding has nothing to do with anything. Most of the scum are (related to or the descendants from) guests staying at Camphill years ago. They got released and either spent the discharge grant on booze, had no money for the trip home to the mailand so they stayed . Or they just liked the place and stayed. They multiply like rabbits …ergo over the years the Island is getting more and more scumbags to infect the place.

If the island is getting more like the mainland daily, where would you suggest moving to? Outter Mongolia or the Moon? At least we are still behind tje mainland with our problems (including covid 19) and not on par. If you think its that bad, why doesnt one move somewhere more promising or the island for sale at 250,000.

What the hell is going on? Just recently crime is happening here as if we are living on the mainland. Where have all these low life ‘lawless’ vile individuals appeared from? Take a look at yourselves, this island is a beautiful place to live and it’s being spoilt by crime. Drugs, speeding uninsured drivers, loud exhausts everywhere, nobody seems to care. The peace and quiet at the moment is great, just wait until lockdown is over, the speeding noisy cars and motorbikes will be back. We need more police on the island and bobbies back on the beat and soon!

Thks Sarah, thought so. We should all email out island MP Bob Seely, I know I will. We need to voice our concerns regarding the council taking these people from the mainland. We don’t want them here as they cause big problems and give the police more work!

Did you really just put, Drugs and loud exhausts in the same category? Modified cars are not illegal. (within acceptable perimeters)

Modified cars over here are frequently illegal, especially if the exhaust is too loud, the suspension too low, the insurers haven’t been told of mods and so on. Not all, I agree. But quite a lot of them. And many will be driven very badly indeed.

We have bad laws that allow undesirables to make our lives a misery, society has gone, now we have community’s…we no-longer sing from the same song sheet as a society as we once did.

The far left have encouraged and created what we have to endure in today’s so called society, everyone is entitled to everything and that includes making good hard working people’s lives a f….ing misery…

It’s 2020, and we now live a life of fear, we are surrounded by low life that simply don’t give a dam, and a police force that have no powers or adequate funding, along with far left judge’s that have no idea of what too do with scum…

The reason you say people are in fear is the cuts to the services see my post above. There is a coomon denominator here Police not responding to all crimes spending funds cut and not enough bobbies on the beat. Reduced fire service cuts again and more announced yesterday crews already been reduced. NHS private companies taking over and longer waits for services and beds. Who has been in power for this long. Years ago, most of the rubbish was housed in one area in each town.

That way the low life had to live alongside other low life. So if currently that happened they could all play their loud music, all drug deal with one another, all mate with each others tattooed partners, and all share the irresponsibility of their numerous charity kept clones without even needing to drive their untaxed, uninsured loud cars.

But, society thought it best to mix social housing in with private housing, expecting that the influence of the private decent people would ‘raise’ the game of the low life.

It didn’t, and never will.

So Labour thought paying more cash via tax credits, upping child allowance, giving more to the disabled offspring, single parents etc was ‘the answer’ as they saw poverty being ‘the problem’.

It wasn’t.

IF these people had a million they would still be vile, trouble, as is proven by their being given everything. A free new home, free council tax, all clones paid for by the state, if a ‘special’ one , even more cash thrown at it, child allowance, tax credits, many dealing in dope earning thousands of tax free income, with little to pay out, as often pretend to be living as single parents, but not, so claim the max on everything.

So it is not lack of wealth, or as was, living in a deprived area.

IT IS THEY who ‘are’ the problem.

Just needs a wise Government to see what ‘normal’ people see daily.

See it how it is.

Don’t just assume that all people living in social housing are the lowest of people you live n your private houses think your better than everyone else your all just as bad with your tax dodging and yes drug dealing on a higher scale most of us in social housing are hard working individuals who have raised our children and not relied on handouts but have not been fortunate enough to buy a property which most are sold off council houses

Linda and NIge, no one means that all in social housing are bad, but usually the most anti social people are the ones in social housing and they also have the most offspring ensuring the misery gets worse.

Not all people in private owned homes are decent, but far more are than in social housing.

Always exceptions of course of which you two and many others will be.

What Jay said is true, but it is also true that not ALL people in social housing are scum, that does need to be said, but sadly many are, and those that are are so noticeable about it that they get all the rest a bad name.
Also just want to say to Nige. if by nice garden you mean there are no bits of used cars or tin cans or rubbish cluttering it, then that is good, but gardens that are merely tidy with little square weed-free flower beds with bedding plants and everything very neat and fussed over, is not good for our environment so I hope any garden is not allowed to grow too tidy. Even on Gardener’s Question time they say we should not be too tidy in the garden, to help the environment, but if you;re talking about the type of people who have no interest in their garden but just see it as a receptacle to deposit their rubbish in, then I agree with you. It’s lovely to have a garden, I just wish i had one to sit out in.

Come on boys and girls, stop arguing.
Crime has always been about and will forever.
Maybe you should just accept that before the internet, we had to wait to read it in the weekly paper or by word of mouth.
Nothing has changed and all areas on our beautiful island have had and will have crime.
The problem lies with the wind up merchants, which Unfortunalty most of you bite too.

Reckon there should be something put in the salt at McDonald’s which stops them breeding!!
It would save the police a lot if time and hassle in the future, and all the other services!!
Happy days xx

True caulk, whist there has always been crime here, the main difference is, those causing such were punished, and whilst it didn’t end crime, it made those who had had the crime against them feel better, and no doubt prevented countless unknown rabble committing even more crime.

Now we see those who commit the most crime, living in a free home, council tax all paid, their numerous vile clones all paid for, everything most other workers have, and YET they still steal more.

Crime is no longer done for need, just greed.

And with toothless Police and courts, and the jails full of those recent newcomers to the UK they cannot jail them even if they wanted to.

A few words for you caulk head! Ostridge, head in the sand, ignorant.. You actually believe crime from the underclass haven’t changed or effected the lives of good hard working people in the UK!???

I remember during my childhood, before this generation of low life, who think their entitled to everything from the state and don’t need to work and pay tax, we could leave our doors open without fear of low life.

Don’t tell me things haven’t got worse, because they have, and will continue to get worse because of ignorance and a lack of will to put a stop to it.

Wake up!!!

Yes bring back national service. If not being educated or working, then there is something to keep our so called bored youngsters in the rhythm of life. Not just getting out of bed at 11 and playing Xbox all day. It’ll teach em self respect thus leading to hopefully respect for others, plus help quash our throw away society.
Why do we wait until they’re unruly or obese before packing them off to fat or naughty camps. Take control now, not later.

Clare & Jay.
Obviously you both had the luxury of living somewhere quiet on the island like Whitwell or Niton, where the only big news was a sheep escaping from a field.
If you were an islander during the 60s, 70s and 80s you would have known that crime was very high and attacks or violence were a common occurrence. Pubs in Ryde, Cowes, Newport and Sandown packed almost every day and the violence I’ve personally witnessed in all those places was far worse than what we see today.
As for punishment, many back then got away with just as much as they do today.
The only good thing back then was the coppers could give you a slap without having charges against them.
We had scum and breeders back then, hence why we are now in 4th generation scum.
Maybe you should both learn about this island’s history before commenting.
My guess is you’re both overners.

I was born here, and though there has always been crime, I don’t recall so much lowlife around as now, probably because the society has got so that they can do no wrong. Certainly Sandown used to be a lovely place to visit for an afternoon or evening. No trouble that I witnessed anywhere. Nothing whatsoever like it is today.

Sandown never had problems, try telling that to a good friend of mine who was beat senseless by 4 scum bags for 20 cigarettes and my relatives that moved away because of the growing problems in the 80s.
If you were here and not Winchester you would have seen it all.
When will all you people realise the trouble has always been here, it’s just we only had two papers to report it once a week, not daily online as it happens.

Actually, I was talking about Sandown in the early 70s. Don’t know what it was like in the 80s but it sounds like the rot had set in by then.

Sadly over the years I have noticed large increases in violent behaviour, many of the ‘ attackers ‘ seem to have no known address… these people should be removed from and banned from this Island. If no fixed address then they probably from mainland originally, so send them back there. I do not know what is wrong with people these days. I have seen alleged young adults and teenagers that seem to want to destroy everything ? WHY>… I called the Police once a few years ago because some teenagers were trying to break down a wall ??? What is in their minds? Ruin road signs, smash rubbish bins, break council placed benches.. wreck trees… so sad, all those talents wasted on destruction.

It is supposed to be lockdown, so why in areas along the beaches will you find a pile of empty beer tins ( could be cider or wine) yet a rubbish bin, is near empty a few feet away ?
Seems people here now do not care about where they live. Just remember, the more you or your children destroy, the more the council will either remove or repair/replace and then raise the Council Tax…
So sad…

Most of those who have the clones that smash and destroy will NOT be paying any council tax, hence nothing bothers them as they won’t be paying for any of it.

I wonder if the prisons have something to do with it? They come out of prison and then stay here? They used to have a problem in Winchester with lowlife hanging around under an archway in the main town, it used to make you feel very uncomfortable having to walk through there, like a threat in the air from the atmosphere they created. I was told it was because of the people who had come out of the prison there. But , the council there decided to do something about it, and they were stopped from accumulating there, at least from there, I don’t know if they just started hanging out somewhere less noticeable.

OAP, a friend of mind tells me that years ago, they used to put people off the Island that had caused trouble here. I don’t know if this is actually true, but as it is part of the UK and not with separate laws, I am surprised it was allowed to happen, but I wish it could happen today.
