Wightlink is advising passengers of disruption on its Fishbourne-Portsmouth car ferry route this morning (Monday) due to an ongoing technical issue.
An undisclosed probelm with St Faith has resulted in a number of sailings being cancelled.
The 08:40 and 10:40 departures from Portsmouth have been cancelled, alongside the 09:40 and 11:40 sailings from Fishbourne.
Customers with bookings are being asked to check in as usual for their booked sailing.
Wightlink says affected passengers will be accommodated on the next available sailing.
UPDATE @ 09:28 – Wightlink has confirmed that the issue has been resolved, with St Faith to resume service at 09:40.
Staff are working to return to a scheduled timetable as quickly as possible.
Ah, back to normal now Cowes week is over.

Just watched a you tuber come to isle of wight as a foot passenger cost over £50 said the extortionate ferry fares cars etc a rip off stopping people coming ..great advert for the island well done to all the ferry companies..talked to john at hink’s cafe next to lake stinky bogs said its been a terrible year no one coming over i must admit i was down there last week hardly anyone around used to be be very busy.
That is so true, YouTube exposes the island
everytime.
It even shows vehicles parked inside a pedestrianised
zone outside the old tourist information centre opposite Sandown Pier evading paying parking charges whilst
tourists have to pay to park.
Some even mention toilet charges, at least Sandown
done away with those Draconian charges.

So sad to see the Government allowing
Ferry Companies to kill off businesses.
I used to travel to the mainland about 10+ times
a year, since the pandemic only a couple of times due to
ridiculous ferry prices.
Once again, preventative maintenance is ignored, thanks to the terminal wasting disease known as Accountantitis.
