A former milking parlour at a now-closed dairy farm on the Isle of Wight could become a luxury holiday let.
New owners of Sunningdale Farm on Cranmore Avenue in the West Wight, Tobias Brackett and Kate Denton, took over the farm in 2019, when it was in a run-down state.
The couple currently keep pigs, sheep and ducks and supply local shops with produce in the area but are now exploring different farm-based activities to support the venture.
Plans submitted to the Isle of Wight Council propose turning the former milking parlour into a luxury farm stay self-catering accommodation.
Agent on behalf of the farm owners, Andrew White Planning Consultancy, said the rural nature of the building and proposed high standard of conversion would help it become a sought-after holiday let and provide a valuable contribution to the overall stock of tourism accommodation on the Island.
The agents say the existing buildings are in a dilapidated condition with the milking parlour suitable for conversion.
An agricultural barn on the site — once used as a dog kennel and cattery — could be demolished and be replaced by a more robust building to provide storage for farm equipment and possibly lambs in the future.

Catering to the rich mainlanders again instead of building something that benefits Islanders, just typical.
What a load of crap. They are islanders and they are trying to benefit themselves by making money out of holiday makers. What would you suggest they do? Maybe you think they should build a padded cell for moaning, feckless islanders who have not got the first idea about making money.
Why is this catering to the rich? This looks like some guys are getting of their arse and doing some good for themselves and the Island. The Island needs tourists to help bring money to the lsland and then maybe the council would have more money to help the islanders. If the council do not sign off this sort of application, they should be very disappointed in themselves.
No , just trying to earn a living .
If your so concerned ,why don’t you build something instead of criticising others who are actually doing something .
Hilarious you think everyone on the mainland is rich. People are skint. Hence more and more UK residents are holidaying in the UK and not going abroad.
This sort of stuff benefits islanders. It brings the whole island up making it a more desirable place to visit and live.
Please give an example of what could be built “for islanders” that would actually make money and succeed?

How much does it cost? I’m assuming it’s cash, or untraceable bonds? Bitcoin?
