A new 3-bedroom house could be built close to the cliff-top in Lake.
County Hall has received a planning application from the Estate of Sylvia Diana Cox for a ‘traditional’ and ‘high quality’ detached home with a parking space on land next to 5 The Glade in Lake.
The site is currently ‘under-utilised’ and as such is a ‘prime candidate’ for residential development, according to the applicant’s agent, Andrew White Planning Consultancy.
Its supporting statement says:
“The design is traditional, extremely attractive and the materials are shown to be of a high quality that would complement the surrounding area.
“The development would not harm the living conditions of neighbours and would not add unduly to the hazards of other highway users.”
Local resident Neil Davidson said:
“The building work will require construction traffic using The Glade – this road surface is prone to damage, potholes and previously the water main was broken during another project due to heavy traffic.
“The builder must be fully liable for any damage to The Glade, including walls and be instructed not to use private driveways for turning or parking.”
The council’s public consultation on application 25/00932/FUL ends on 8th August and a decision is due on 3rd September.
