A new 2-bedroom apartment could be built on the lower ground floor of a Victorian villa near the popular Appley Beach.
Mr Truscott of Leavington House – known for its troublesome tenants in recent years, which included the scene of a murder – has lodged plans with the Isle of Wight Council for a part conversion of the lower ground floor of Leavington, a property on Ryde’s East Hill Road.
The proposed flat, suitable for 3 people and classed as ‘market housing’, would be in close proximity to Ryde Beach and have access to a large communal garden.
A Planning Statement from Planit Consulting says:
“The flat would be a 2-bedroom dwelling, with a kitchen, living room, bathroom and wine cellar, with all rooms provided with access to sunlight/daylight via the existing window arrangements.
“It is clear that the conversion would not result in any harmful or detrimental impacts to the amenity of any of the neighbour properties.”
The council’s public consultation on proposal 25/01280/FUL ends on 24th October and a decision is due on 29th October.
