2 ambulance crews from the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service are in attendance at Ryde this evening (Wednesday) where 2 children have been rescued from the sea.
Paramedics are checking over the youngsters and 2 members of the public who went to their aid.
The incident has occurred close to Ryde Harbour.
Bembridge Coastguard Rescue Team are also on scene, but thankfully all persons are accounted for.
The alarm was raised when the Harbourmaster was alerted to the developing situation on the nearby shoreline.
The swift response of emergency services has been praised.
It is unknown at this time if the casualties will be conveyed to St Mary’s Hospital for further examination.
