The County Town club have also announced they will be entering a reserve side in the Isle of Wight League in the forthcoming season.
Their 1st team will continue to be managed by current manager Steve Brougham, whilst their reserve team will be led by Stew Shepherd.
Last month, the Port announced a new ground share agreement with East Cowes Victoria. Therefore, for the 202324 season the 1st team will play their home games at Beatrice Avenue, East Cowes.
No announcement has yet been made concerning if and when work will commence on their new ground on the Racecourse, Whippingham.
In recent weeks the club has been hit with the departure of 8 regular 1st team players. Despite this, the club have vowed to carry on.
In a statement, a spokesperson for Newport IW FC has said:
“The club are delighted to announce that we will be remaining a Wessex side for the coming 2023/24 season, managed by Steve Brougham.
“Our reserve team, led by Stew Shepherd, has also been accepted into the Island League, which is further fantastic news.
“We have a number of established Wessex league players who have shown their commitment to remain part of our team, with details to be announced shortly.
“The club has an amazing 130 year history, and this is thanks to the support of its incredible team of volunteers, management and, most importantly, players.
“Without everyone’s sincere commitment to continue the growth and progress of our club, we wouldn’t have the bright future ahead of us that we do right now.”
