Six60, the chart-topping, genre-defying band from New Zealand, is set to electrify audiences at Strings Bar & Venue in Newport on Saturday 14th September.
A critical and commercial sensation in their home country of New Zealand, Kiwi five piece Six60 continuously break records for ticket sales, chart-topping albums and singles and new innovative ways of getting their music to their fans. But outside of their antipodean environs, they were less well-known. That is, until a string of concerts last year changed the band’s trajectory on the global stage forever. The nationwide tour known as ‘SIX60 Saturdays’ culminated in the band playing to over 50,000 people at Auckland’s Eden Park Stadium -and they were the only band performing live to crowds anywhere in the world at the time.
The performance at Strings Bar & Venue this September promises to be an unforgettable evening for both die-hard fans and new listeners. With a setlist featuring hits like Don’t Forget Your Roots, Vibes, and Sundown, attendees can expect a high-energy show that showcases the band’s impressive musical versatility. The performance will also include tracks from their latest album, giving fans a taste of Six60’s ever-evolving sound.
Speaking ahead of the event, Strings co-owner Andy Booth expressed the excitement of the band playing later this month.
“It is not often a band with so much international presence visits the Isle of Wight. For Six60 to be embarking on a worldwide Grassroots tour and including Strings in amongst other well-known venues is certainly going to make this a must-see event.”
Tickets for Six60’s performance at Strings Bar & Venue are selling fast, given the band’s immense popularity and the limited capacity of the venue. Fans are encouraged to secure their tickets in advance to avoid disappointment.
Andy added:
“This gig is not just an event, but an experience that promises to be one of the highlights of the year for music lovers.”
Tickets are available at www.stringsbarandvenue.com with doors opening at 7:30pm. Support comes from Kenyan-New Zealand reggae artist Muroki.
